OUR HISTORY

Work began in Marietta, Ohio, in July 1962 when area missionary Bob Hall and a group of summer student workers conducted a Vacation Bible School. Grace Baptist Church of Parkersburg, WV was the sponsoring church and Marietta Chapel started in a Second Street storefront, August 1962. The chapel grew to become the North Hills Baptist Church and was constituted on May 26, 1964.

North Hills purchased land in Colegate Woods Estates in July 1964; the ground breaking ceremony was held November 26, 1966. Dedication and first church services were held March 24, 1968. The church has since added an educational wing to the building. Both building processes were extensively completed by members and volunteers on mission trips.

The church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the State Convention of Baptist of Ohio, and the Muskingum Valley Baptist Association.
