OUR BELIEFS

About God: We believe that God eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-eternal, co-equal and are one God possessing the same nature, character, and perfections (Gen. 1:1, 26-27; Ps. 90:2; Mt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2).

About Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father. Jesus Christ came to this earth according to the prophecies of the Scriptures in order to manifest the person of God before men and to become the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all people. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, and redeemed man through the cross. On earth Jesus Christ, though human, retained His deity as God. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Is. 9:6; Luke 1:30-35; Jn 1:1-5; Rom 1:3-4; 3:25-26; Heb. 4:14-15; 10:5-14; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; 1 Tim. 6:14-15).

About the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. Though present in the Old Testament, we believe that His presence indwells every believer since the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit unifies every member of the body of Christ, seals every believer until the day of redemption, and makes men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. In addition, the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, empowers the Christian with spiritual gifts to carry out the mission given to the church, teaches the Christian spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. (John 14:16-17; 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 2:12, 3:16; 6:19; 2 Cor. 3:17; Eph. 1:13, 2:22; 5:18; Gal. 5:25)

About the Bible: We believe that the Holy Scriptures is God’s inspired, infallible, inerrant Word to us. We believe that God used human authors, under supernatural guidance, to pen the exact words that were written in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible to be the supreme source of truth given to man in order to lead man to God and to give practical instruction for daily living. All parts of the Bible are equally and fully inspired by God and without error (Ps. 12:6, 119:105, 119:160; Pr. 30:5; Mark 12:26, 36; Luke 24:27, 44; Acts 17:2-3; 26:22-23; 2 Tim. 1:13; 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21;)

About Human Beings: We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; however, because of the consequences of sin entering the world, man fell into spiritual darkness and death. Although man has the potential to perform good deeds, every man is contaminated by the effects of sin. We are spiritually dead in our trespasses because of our disobedience to a holy God. From the act of Adam in the Garden of Eve, the disease of sin is transmitted to every living person. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. (Gen. 1:27; Ps. 8:3-6; 14:1-3; 51:5; Is. 53:6a; John 3:6; 5:40; 6:35; Rom. 3:10-23; Eph 2:1-3).

About Salvation: We believe that salvation is God’s free gift to us, and unless a person is born again, in no way can he/she enter the kingdom of God. Man can do nothing to earn his salvation. Salvation is a completely free gift given to man from God regardless of any merit or work an individual has achieved. Man’s work and merit are futile before a holy God. No method of improvement can ever make a person acceptable to God. Only when an individual trusts in Jesus Christ and Him alone will that person receive redemption from the penalty of sin. That redemption is accomplished through the death of Jesus Christ who bore our sins on a cross and took the curse of death which belonged to each one of us. Through one’s faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the free gift of salvation through God’s grace. At that moment of salvation, the believer is implanted with the new nature by the Holy Spirit and receives eternal life (Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; Jn. 1:12, 14:6; Rom 5:1-9; 2 Cor 5:21; Gal 3:13-26; 6:15; Phil 3:4-9; Titus 3:5).

About the Church: We believe that every believer of Jesus Christ indwelled by the Holy Spirit composes the universal church. We believe that the body of Christ encompasses every Christian regardless of any church affiliations or organizations. We believe in the commandment and observance of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper which are continual reminders of the work and ministry of Jesus Christ. We believe that the church should actively engage the community through outreach and faithfully disciple and equip the believers through prayer, teaching, stewardship, fellowship, and community (Matt 16:16-18; 28:19; Acts 1:5; 2:42-47; 11:15-16, 24-26; 1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 1:20-23; 4:4-10; 1 Thess. 4:13-17).

About Eternity: We believe that each individual will spend their eternity based upon his/her decision on earth. For the one who chooses to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior, that individual will immediately enter before the presence of God upon death; however, those who refuse to trust in Jesus Christ will face the final judgment at the Great White Throne and will be judged according to the their works resulting in an everlasting judgment in the lake of fire (Luke 16: 19-26; Jn. 3:16, Rom. 6:23; 2 Thess 1:7-9; Rev. 20:11-15)
